Got it from a relative as a gift. Awesome fork, I put it on a retro skatepark bike/dirt jumper build I did. Did some small jumps, this thing is solid.

I decided to resurrect my 1997 Mongoose VRS 3.0 full suspension mountain bike that had been sitting in storage for the past 20 years. The original elastomer suspension forks no longer worked well, so that was the first thing I wanted to upgrade. However, there are not many budget forks available these days for 26" wheels with rim brake mounts.

I narrowed my options down to the RockShox 30 Silver TK (coil spring) and the RockShox Recon Silver TK (air spring) and decided to go for the slightly more expensive air spring fork due to its higher level of adjustability.

Performance Bicycle were very responsive to my email questions both before and after ordering, which gave me reassurance that I was dealing with a reputable company who cares about their customers. They shipped the forks out to me very quickly and I received them sooner than I expected, which was great given that I am on the other side of the world in Australia.

The forks are absolutely fantastic and have totally transformed my bike. They are supple over smaller bumps and absorb bigger hits with authority and a feeling of solidity. They are a great match for the rear suspension on my bike and I have found myself actively seeking bumps and obstacles to experience the amazing ride quality that the combination brings.

I highly recommend these forks to anyone looking to upgrade their retro mountain bike on a budget.

Shock was shipped in a timely manner. It was very easy to install. I really like the lock out feature. I can lock it on my ride to the trails and unlock when I hit the trails. I wish it came with a pump to adjust the air pressure but hopely I can pick up a used one on Ebay. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.
